Choliye, Ermias and Mulu - Kenya

Ermias and Mulu Choliye have served God in their country, Ethiopia, since they were teenagers. They have worked in the Ministry of Education for the city of Addis Ababa. They were introduced to the Church of the Nazarene in 1995 through Nazarene missionaries Dr. Al and Kitty Jones.  In 1997, Ermias and Mulu joined The Church of The Nazarene. Ermias received his local preacher’s licenses in Addis Ababa Central Church and his district ministerial license in October 1998 from the Ethiopia Central District. He served as lay pastor in Addis Ababa Central Church of the Nazarene. After God’s call and preparation for full time ministry and pastoral leadership, Ermias joined Africa Nazarene School of Extension in 1998 and 1999 for an extension diploma in Theology.

In November1999, Ermias was accepted to study at Africa Nazarene University in Nairobi, Kenya. During the next years of studies, Ermias served the church as assistant District Superintendent and Creative Leadership Institute teacher for the Ethiopian districts and zones. He finished his Bachelor’s degree of Theology in May 2004 and was ordained by General Superintendent Dr. Jim Bond in Ethiopia Central District. That year Ermias became District Superintendent for two districts, Ethiopia Central and South Central Districts. In October 2006 Ermias was assigned to serve God as a mission coordinator for the country of Ethiopia. For further studies Ermias enrolled for his Master’s degree at Azusa Pacific University in California, USA and earned in September 2009 MA in Organizational Leadership.

From July 2008 to April 2013, Ermias served God and His people as Field Strategy Coordinator for the six countries in The Horn of Africa for the Church of the Nazarene. The family moved to the Africa East Field office in Nairobi, Kenya in August 2013.

Currently Ermais and Mulu are serving as global missionaries to reach unreached people. Both Ermias and Mulu work with gospel Internet radio programs through Nazarene World Mission Broadcast and developing Wesleyan – Holiness literature in more than 10 major East African languages.

Ermias and Mulu have three grown boys: Nathanael, Estifanos, and Abesolom living in Nairobi Kenya.
