In Memoriam fall leaves

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 6-10 March 2023.

Bobbie Gay, 93, of Rome, Georgia, passed away 1 March 2023. She was the widow of Barry Gay, a retired minister who served in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Barry passed away in 2021.

Richard Henderson, 86, of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away 28 February 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota, New Zealand, and Missorui. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Henderson. 

Henry James, 95, of Suwanee, Georgia, passed away 3 March 2023. He was a retired minister who served in the Virgin Islands and Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth James, who passed away in 2017. 

Frank Johnson, 78, of San Jose, California, passed away 7 March 2023. He was a retired minister who served in California. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Johnson.

Darrell Nicklow, 70, of Tyrone, Pennsylvania, passed away 4 March 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife, Linda Nicklow.

Elwood O'Dell, 82, of Bartow, Florida, passed away 6 March 2023. He was a registered minister who served in Florida, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and New York. He is survived by his wife, Jean O'Dell.

Paul Park, 68, of Suffern, New York, passed away 1 March 2023. He was a minister who served in Texas and New York. He is survived by his wife, Joo Lee Park. 

Eileen Perdew, 87, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away 3 March 2023. She was the widow of Ralph Perdew, a retired minister who served in Ohio. Ralph passed away in 2014.

Joyce Shankel, 87, of Sunbury, Ohio, passed away 3 March 2023. She was the wife of Jack Shankel, a retired minister who served in Maine, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Minnesota.

Ruth Smith, 94, of Cumberland, Maryland, passed away 3 March 2023. She was the widow of Alan Smith, a retired minister who served in Vermont, New York, New Hampshire, and Maine. Alan passed away in 1998.

Edith Warner, 94, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, passed away 28 February 2023. She was the wife of C. Leroy Warner, a retired minister who served in New York, Ohio, and Florida. Leroy passed away in 2006.

The Cameroon flag is a vertical tricolor of green, red and yellow, defaced with a five-pointed star in its center. The center stripe is thought to stand for unity: red is the colour of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity."
