This is a cooperative effort by the International Board of Education, Nazarene Theological Seminary, Nazarene Youth International, Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International, USA/Canada Mission/Evangelism, and World Mission Evangelism. Its purpose is to identify the available education resources in the denomination and to channel these resources to the educational programs of the denomination.

The RIIE is global in perspective. The educational resources of the Church of the Nazarene are distributed worldwide throughout the denomination. So are the educational needs. Efforts by the RIIE to match resources to needs rely on resources wherever they exist in the church.

A Board of Directors and Coordinating Council guide the RIIE and sponsor projects that deploy persons throughout the denomination's educational enterprise.
