Bob (Boise State Univ. 1982) and Colleen (Northwest Nazarene Univ. 1981) Skinner started as global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene in 1990 after graduating from Nazarene Theological Seminary in June of that year with their first assignment in the Philippines. The Philippines had been home for Colleen who grew up there with Nazarene missionary parents, Dr. Ron and Neva Beech, and became her home again as she returned with Bob and their first son, Robby, who was 4 months old at the time. Robby graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in May of 2013 and is serving God through Seattle 1st Church of the Nazarene.
After serving in the Philippines, and having their second son, Michael, born in Manila, most of their time was dedicated to local church development for nearly 5 years. Michael is now enrolled in Olivet Nazarene University.
After the Philippines the Skinners were transferred to Kiev, Ukraine in 1995. They arrived in Ukraine where there was just one established Nazarene church. After 17 years in this former Communist country there were over 20 Nazarene churches, 8 drug and alcohol rehab centers, trained local leaders, 4 children's homes for abandoned kids and street kids, HIV/aides ministries, and multiple ministries to the entire gamut of society, including our own Ukraine Nazarene Medical Team.
In 2012 the Skinners were transferred to Budapest, Hungary where Bob assisted in Hungary, but was primarily assigned to church development in Poland. Joshua graduated high school in Hungary and now attends Olivet Nazarene University.
The Skinners transferred to Poland in September 2015. Poland has two churches and two coffee houses associated with those churches in Poznan and Krakow. The vision is to find out where and how God is working in Poland and to join with Him! There are many unbelievers in this heavily Roman Catholic country, we desire to join with the Lord in reaching those who do not know Him and have a relationship with Him and bring them into the Kingdom and the Church of the Nazarene.
