their resources to support the ministries of the Church of the Nazarene
so that the good news of His love may be shared with people all over
the world.
I am Kathy Kruse, Administrative Director and
Controller of Global Treasury Services and I would like to introduce
you to our staff of professionals who appreciate the opportunity to
serve the Church with their accounting and financial talents.
First, we process your gifts and provide donor receipts.
Over
700 gifts are received daily from local churches, district and
individuals. These gifts support the General Church and are designated
for World Evangelism, Pensions and Benefits, Alabaster, Work &
Witness, Compassionate Ministries and many other approved Mission
Specials.
Second, we distribute funds for the General Church.
We
distribute fund allocations to each world mission field to support
World Evangelism; Pension Plan funds to retiree participants as
benefits; and funds for Headquarters operations expenses through
accounts payable.
Other Services we provide include…
Church
and District Giving Summaries, Missionary payroll processing,
Investment Accounting, Non-cash gift accounting which includes estates,
trusts, gift annuities and gifts-in-kind.
About our Committees…
We
provide accounting and financial services support for the General Board
of the Church of the Nazarene and its member entities, we are supported
by the General Board Finance Committee and Investment Committee with
members representing both clergy and laypersons of our church.
About our Annual Audit…
An
independent firm validates the consistency and accuracy of our
accounting practices through an annual audit of the General Board
financial reports prepared by our office.
These audited
financial statements are then presented to the General Board by the
Headquarters Financial Officer at the Board's annual meeting in
accordance with the constitution of the Church of the Nazarene.
