About ANSR

Statement of Purpose

We propose to generate that kind of sociological research which provides valid information related to those subject areas that our Denomination considers to be especially helpful in better fulfilling it's God-Ordained mission. Furthermore, we believe the following to be derivatives of this effort:

  1. The accumulation of potentially useful information that is, subsequently, channeled to appropriate recipients and expressed in effective forms.
  2. The gathering together of quality research, and the placing of such materials in a centralized location.
  3. The suggestion of programs which are thought to be consistent with the mutual mission of ANSR and the Church of the Nazarene.
  4. The significant improvement of classroom instruction, increasing the quantity/quality of students majoring our discipline, and the direct/indirect involvement of the latter in ANSR.
  5. The creation of a bond of fellowship among Nazarene sociologists that stimulates intellectual development and spiritual enrichment.
  6. The cultivation of cooperation with similarly motivated Christian sociological associations, in order to acquire information and to establish meaningful relationships.

Operation

In annual mettings, participating scholars present research bearing upon Nazarene growth. Because they are sociologists, they can help us understand ourselves and our community. Because they are Nazarenes, they understand the importance of evengelism and discipleship.

Membership

Participation is open to those interested in sociology and other research related to the Church of the Nazarene. For more information contact the Research Center at (800) 306-9928 or Contact Us.
