2008 Mission Offering:
OPERATION PROCLAMATION.The theme for the 2008 Mission Offering is “Operation Proclamation--Every Heart Hearing Every Word.” The theme is inspired by the words of Isaiah 28:23: “Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I have to say.”
Funds raised through this project will provide Proclaimers to be sent to pre-literate areas of the world. The Proclaimer is a device, the size of a radio, equipped with a microchip containing the audio Bible in the language of the listener. It can be powered by electricity, battery, solar panel, or hand crank options. This makes it possible to use the Proclaimer anywhere and anytime. Contributions for “Operation Proclamation” can be collected through the traditional VBS offering. Others, like Caravan ministries or children’s worship groups, may want to participate in the offering. The offering is from October 1, 2007, through September 30, 2008. Send the offering to the General Treasurer marked “2008 VBS Offering.” This money will provide God’s Word to people who do not know how to read, but they will have an opportunity to hear His Word.
The Mission Offering Project Packet is available from Children’s Ministries. In the packet are the Mission Offering Poster and a DVD. On the DVD are: a digital copy of the poster; “Operation Proclamation” video and promo trailer; “Did You Know?” videos (one with prayer at the end and one without the prayer); 2008 Mission Offering Project PowerPoint; and “Custom Garage” VBS promo trailer.

The Case of Stuart’s Ship—A Lesson in Stewardship by Stan Toler and Debra White Smith.
Through a Sunday School poster contest, Stuart learns what it means to be a good steward of time, talents, money, God’s resources, and our bodies.
