Touch-a-Life, a creative, compassionate ministry for children and youth (ages 6-15), is a joint effort by Children's Ministries, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, USA/Canada, and Nazarene Youth International.
The PurposeEncourage local churches to utilize their resources to be Christ-in-action by addressing specific needs of the children and youth in their communities.
The MissionPromote holistic Christian ministry for children and youth through creative, compassionate programs.
The PossibilitiesThere are a variety of programs that churches can develop to meet the needs of today's young people.
• One-on-one tutoring and mentoring with caring adults
• After-school study labs
• Classes that focus on practical life skills (conflict resolution, basic health and drug awareness, careers, personal finances)
• Basic education courses (English or Spanish as a second language, GED courses)
• Recreational activities that promote teamwork and motor skills development
• Summer day camps
If you would like to start a Touch-a-Life ministry, here's how to begin:
1. Order the TAL resources from Children's Ministries.
2. Create a mission statement and strategy for your proposed Touch-a-Life ministry.
3. Secure approval for the ministry and its funding from the church board.
4. Begin recruiting and training volunteers.
5. Advertise your ministry in the community.
6. Begin touching lives!

Touch-A-Life After-School CurriculumThe Prime Time for Kids curriculum from Scripture Union offers three years of curriculum with 40 lessons for each year. The curriculum is currently available in both English and Spanish.
• The Big Story, year 1, focuses on themes from both the Old and New Testament. It is currently available in both English and Spanish.
• Following Jesus, year 2, focuses on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. It is currently available in English, and it will be available soon in Spanish.
• Heroes of Faith, year 3, focus on the heroes from the Old and New Testament, along with stories from the lives of more contemporary heroes, including: Mother Teresa, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Nicky Cruz, Corrie ten Boom, Jim Elliot, Rosa Parks, and others.
