The Hope Project – Showing the Depths of Jesus’ Love to Street KidsOctober 1, 2009 – September 30, 2010“Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.” (Luke 12:6b, NIV).
Millions of kids throughout the world find themselves surviving or living on the streets. Many of them struggle each day for the basic needs of life--food, clothing and shelter. Through the Kids Reaching Kids 2009-2010 Mission Offering,
The Hope Project, your kids will have the opportunity to show these children on the streets that they are not forgotten by God.
As children give their nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars for
The Hope Project, children on the streets will have many of these basic holistic needs of life met. In addition, many of them for the first time will also hear and learn how Jesus Christ can make a difference in their lives. They will experience the depths of Jesus’ love.
The Hope Project will provide funds for street children in each of the seven world regions of the Church of the Nazarene. This includes Africa, Asia Pacific, Caribbean, Eurasia, Mexico and Central America, North America, and South America.
Working with the regional coordinators for
Connecting a New Generation,
The Hope Project will help to fund holistic efforts for children around the globe. In addition, the funds will help these regional coordinators train and equip new workers to reach these children on the streets.
“But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish (Psalm 9:18, NIV). Children on the streets will know they have not been forgotten, they will feel the hope that comes from Jesus Christ, and they will have access to the basic needs of live. The Operation Proclamation Offering Sets Another Record!
In a year when higher energy prices and global economic concerns have caused many to worry about the church’s ability to meet the statement of mission for the Church of the Nazarene “To Make Christlike Disciples in the Nations,” God’s people have shown a continued and faithful pattern in giving toward the Children’s Mission Offering Project. What makes this even more special is the fact this offering involves and impacts our kids directly.
The 2007-2008 Mission Offering Project,
Operation Proclamation, wrapped up on September 30, with an all time record total of $385,348. This surpassed the record set by the Action Africa offering by 11% and brought the combined total for the past three Mission Offering Projects to over one million dollars.
A high percentage of people in many areas of our world are pre-literate. Many of these people live in areas where reliable electricity is a luxury not afforded to them. The mission of
Operation Proclamation was for “every heart to hear every word.” As a result of the faithful giving of kids, churches and NMI groups, over 1300 Proclaimers will be placed in these pre-literate areas of the world. The Proclaimer is a self-contained audio Bible, with a micro-chip version of the Bible in the language of the listener. It has four different options for power, so it can be used anywhere!
