Christian Schools

The Nazarene Education (birth—secondary) Office supports and resources school and child care/preschool ministries offered by Churches of the Nazarene and serves as a liaison between Children’s Ministries International and the Nazarene Educators Worldwide (NEW), the denominationally sponsored organization to support Nazarene schools (birth—secondary) and all Nazarene educators in Christian school, homeschool, public school, global and international schools, and the university/college education departments.

Mission:

The mission of Nazarene Education (birth—secondary) Office is to promote, resource, and support school and child care ministries offered by Churches of the Nazarene.

Resources and Services:

• Edits and sends the NEW e-Link, a quarterly electronic newsletter to resource all Nazarene educators.
• Provides guidelines to Nazarene churches for establishing and maintaining a child care/preschool, elementary, or high school.
• Operates a central employment-assistance agency for Nazarene schools and employees.
• Serves as a liaison between Children’s Ministries International and Nazarene Educators Worldwide, the denominationally–sponsored organization to support Christian schools and all Nazarene educators.
• Responds to questions regarding general church policy toward Christian schools and child care/preschools.
• Provides updates on significant and recent legal information that may affect child care/preschools and schools at the local level.

The General Board Bylaws of the Church of the Nazarene require Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International to register annually all schools and centers operated by local churches.
