September 28Emphasize that Sunday School is a place to be equipped to share the story • Use Week 3 of the
Centennial Sunday School lessons – “We are Missional” for youth and adults, “Tell the Story,” for elementary, and “Share God’s Love” for early childhood.
• Use the Centennial sermon “The Church as the Body of Christ.”
• Add to your growing bulletin board the word “Missional.”
• Nazarene Youth International is more than 380,000 members strong around the world and is not limited by language or culture. Go to the Centennial Celebration link of
www.nyitoday.org to meet other young people and youth groups from around the world. Enter your youth group profile, tell us a little about yourself, and add a photo. Consider initiating a “pen pal” relationship with a youth group from another world region, sharing prayer requests, current events, and news. In some cases, groups may be able to meet or partner on mission trip experiences.
• Support your church’s LINKS missionaries. If your LINKS missionary family has children (ask your local NMI president), suggest that appropriate age groups make cards and write letters. Tell them how you are celebrating the Centennial, and let them know you are praying for them.
•
Hands Around the World. Outline children’s hands on a half sheet of paper. Write on each hand the name of a country where the Church of the Nazarene ministers (see
www.nazarenemissions.org/gin/world.aspx). Attach the hands to a classroom or hallway wall. Have children place their hand on a cut-out hand and pray for the children in that country.
•
Sponsor a Child. Get information from Nazarene Compassionate Ministries at
www.ncm.org/cs/.
•
International Parade. Use the children to help your congregation focus on the world areas where there are Nazarenes. Select an international symbol for each child to carry or wear, or ask children to carry a poster with the country’s name.
