General Superintendent Eugénio Duarte recently participated in the first Holiness Summit held on the Mexico and Central America (MAC) Region. For three days, beginning October 29, Nazarenes from around the MAC Region, the Caribbean Region, and other nations gathered to celebrate the love of God and to remember His call to holiness.

In addition to Dr. Duarte, speakers at the MAC Holiness Summit included Christian Sarmiento, director of the South America Region; Roberto Hodgson, Hispanic coordinator for the USA/Canada Region; Nina G. Gunter, general superintendent emerita; Carlos Saenz, director of the Mexico and Central America Region, and others.
 
Dr. Duarte, jurisdictional general superintendent for the MAC Region, preached on Thursday, October 29, about God as a consuming and purifying fire from Hebrews 12:28-29: “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire’” (NIV). The service was led by MAC Regional Director Luis Carlos Saenz, with Jorge Cordova leading attendees in a prayer time.
