General Superintendent James H. Diehl recently visited Pilar, Argentina on the South America Region for a preaching series, including an installation ceremony for the new regional director.

Dr. Diehl spoke daily for morning devotions for the South America regional personnel and visiting guests, including Dr. Louie E. Bustle, World Mission Department director. He also preached in the evening in the South America Nazarene Seminary chapel. “Those evening services turned into a mighty revival, giving evidence of the power and presence of God,” Dr. Diehl reports. “It was like an outpouring of rain upon a field of summer flowers. Everyone was receptive and open to the work of the Holy Spirit in these services.”
Following the unexpected death of Regional Director Bruno Radi in June 2005, Dr. Diehl and others paid tribute to his evangelistic fervor and Christian spirit in leadership. Dr. Radi's wife, Liliana, and other family members were present.
Dr. Diehl officiated in the installation of Dr. Christian Sarmiento as the new regional director for South America. Dr. Sarmiento has most recently served as director of the Mexico/Central America Region. Dr. Diehl describes the circle of commissioning prayer: “I know that I have witnessed not only the refreshing power and presence of God upon His people in South America but also the fresh anointing of their new leader as he engages his new assignment.”
