Representing the Board of General Superintendents, Dr. Jerry D. Porter and Dr. J. K. Warrick recently met with 53 Nazarene leaders from the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and Northwest Oklahoma districts. The group joined together on May 26, 2006, at Southern Nazarene University.

These leaders, all members of their respective District Advisory Councils, came together for a conversation on their shared mission of reaching the people of Oklahoma with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through prayer and discussion they made a renewed commitment to cooperate more intentionally in this mission and to continue building bridges of friendship through future meetings of ministers and laypersons.

These leaders were unanimous in their desire to establish a State Advisory Council to continue this conversation and to facilitate efforts to work more closely with one another in the future.
