Cunningham Encourages Mission in Trinidad and Tobago

 Nazarene - West Trinidad
 General Superintendent
Cunningham and
District Superintendent George.
General Superintendent Paul G. Cunningham presided over the Trinidad and Tobago District Assembly, where a new mission action plan was presented. The event took place March 29 at the St. James Church of the Nazarene in West Trinidad.

The Mission 7-11 Action Plan identifies that the district’s mission is to develop Christlike disciples in all their churches and release them to start new churches. The specific vision statement is to carry the message of biblical holiness to every community in Trinidad and Tobago in this generation.

The following DNA Concept is to be implemented in each local church:

• A church that preaches, teaches, and experiences biblical holiness theology
• A church-planting movement church
• A self-supporting church
• A praying church
• A sending church

The district assembly heartily endorsed and adopted the Mission 7-11 Action Plan. Other highlights of the assembly included the reelection of the district superintendent, Victor George, the granting of the district’s very first minister of music license, and the proposed launch of a district website in June. District Superintendent George also cast vision for 1,000 new Nazarenes on the Trinidad and Tobago District by the end of 2008.

Dr. Cunningham preached from Mark 4:35. He reminded delegates that the sanctified life does not mean that we will live without problems, but he encouraged them to trust God in the storms of life and seek fresh infillings of His Holy Spirit.
