What Is Children's Mission Education?

Children's Mission Education is a program designed to help children understand Christian mission, become interested in mission at an early age, and find their place in the worldwide outreach of the church. An integral part of this program is the curriculum. It includes a Children's Mission Kit and a set of six mission books.

The Children's Mission Kit, Understanding Christian Mission, includes a Leader's Guide with 12 interactive lessons written for grades 1-6, activity sheets for individual instruction, and resource items (games, puzzles, posters) for group directed activities. The reading books correlate with each year's theme for the Children's Mission Kit. The books are written for All Readers (grades 1-6), and Advanced Readers (grades 4-6).

The goals for Understanding Christian Mission are to teach children the importance of our Christian mission, to encourage them to become enthusiastic, lifelong supporters of mission work, and to help children decide if God is calling them to a mission ministry.
