Nazarene churches gave generously to the World Evangelism Fund this past year so the church could continue to make Christlike disciples throughout the world.

Many congregations and districts gave more than 100 percent of their budgeted goals this year, but the giving didn't stop there. God has inspired people in different ways to give so His mission for the church could move forward, including a young girl in Virginia.

The Global Ministry Center’s Treasury Services received a check this summer in the amount of $108.37 from the Forest Family Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Forest, Virginia.

Included in the envelope was a note that read: “This money came from Jessica Murphy, a 10-year-old-girl who wanted to help a missionary family.”

Jessica raised the money herself in order to help a missionary family she didn’t even know, but she knew that they were doing the work of the Lord.

“We extend our admiration and gratefulness to Jessica for her spirit, compassion, and vision that inspired her successful efforts to raise these funds to support and bless a Nazarene missionary family,” said Marilyn J. McCool, general treasurer and financial officer for the Global Ministry Center.

“Jessica is the Nazarene Church of today and tomorrow,” she added. “She is doing her part to ‘Make Christ like Disciples in the Nations.’ May we all be like Jessica.”
