Children attend missionary camp in Mexico

Children attend missionary camp in Mexico

by | 29 Jun 2018

Gulf of Mexico District Nazarene Missions International carried out four COMI's (Children's Missionary Orientation Camps) throughout the months of May and June for children between 4 and 14 years old. The camps were titled "Missionary Adventure," and taught children about the Church of the Nazarene's mission work around the world and helped the children discover a call to missions.

More than 100 children attended. They acted out scenarios in which they "traveled" to South Africa, Japan, the Middle East, and the Dominican Republic, learning about each area along the way.

NMI leaders — specifically those who work with children — received training on how to instruct and involve children in missions by using various teaching materials and other tools.

This event would not have been possible without the help of the local churches and the district NMI president, Elizabeth Roa, along with Judith Galindo and Rebeca Ramírez, members of the NMI council, who were in charge of preparing the camps.
