The Bicol District welcomed the first Work & Witness team post-COVID-19 to serve their district and the community in Bicol, Philippines. 3 members from the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Albany, Oregon, traveled to Legazpi City to partner with the district on a project to build a new district

George Miller, 72, of Carnegie, Oklahoma, passed away 28 May 2023. He was a retired missionary who served for 27 years in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and the Philippines. Miller was the pastor of Carnegie Church of the Nazarene at the time of his death.

John Mann Nielson passed away 28 April 2023 at the age of 79. He served as a pastor, missionary, educator, and administrator, including as president of Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary and director of Ministerial Development for the Church of the Nazarene’s International Headquarters.

After eight years of closure, South Pacific Nazarene Theological College reopened in January 2023. SPNTC aims to have 50 pastors graduate with a Certificate in Ministry in the next two years as the Solomon Island District seeks to promote growth.

Two cyclones devastated the island of Vanuatu in April. The disaster response team led by Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Asia-Pacific among others is distributing relief items to the various local churches and communities in Vanuatu.

Nazarene pastors and their families from the New Zealand District gathered together for their annual retreat 20-22 April 2023. District Superintendent Paul Talluri summarized the weekend as “a time of rejuvenation, reflection, and recommitment to our faith.”

More than 70 young people from three Nazarene churches in Samoa participated in a two-day youth rally. Nine people came to Christ through a community outreach activity.

Nazarene Aletheia Christian Church, led by Pastor George Sorontou, started the Saya Pengikut Kristus (SPK program) in 2008. SPK program is a recovery class designed for those struggling with addiction, divorce, and other difficult situations.

Shalom Community Center in Indonesia is a young church with five families in its congregation. Even though it is a newer plant and small in numbers, this church is passionate about evangelism.

The Asia-Pacific Region’s Nazarene Women in Leadership Council led an online worship celebration with the theme “Thriving Together.” Over 150 men and women from across the region attended the worship service.
