PRAISES
JESUS Film - Guatemala
"I will serve the Lord even if I am all alone," said a viewer in Guatemala. "Through the JESUS Film, I realized I was a sinner, so I accepted Christ as my Savior. I now understand He loves me and died for me. I thank God His Word reached me in so many different ways and helps me to grow in Him. I want to be a blessing for those who have not accepted Jesus and help them find Him also. I will follow the Lord even though my neighbors have not made the decision yet."
JESUS Film - Kenya
"What do I do now?" asked six-year-old Charity in Kenya. A team leader explains: "During our revival service, several children raised their hands to accept Jesus. We were impressed with them, took their names, and asked them to return the next day for follow-up. Little Charity was eager to get started, asking, 'Now that I am saved, what am I supposed to do?' During the follow-up time, we discussed what it means to follow Christ, how children should behave with their families, at school, and in church. These children offer great hope."
JESUS Film - Philippines
"The response is almost overwhelming," said a team leader from the Philippines. "Through the successful showing of the JESUS film, many accepted the gospel of Christ with open hearts and arms. We are now doing regular worship services. Folks of all ages are eager to learn the Word of God. We are excited to pursue what God has entrusted to us. He has magnificently opened doors for Bible study, fellowship, and visitation. Some patients we visited at the hospital now attend our group. We worship the one, true, living God who hears and answers our prayers. May He be glorified!"
PRAYER REQUESTS
Victims of Hurricane Patricia
Please pray for the victims in the aftermath of Hurricane Patricia. Church leaders in Mexico requested prayer and support after the storm made landfall on Friday, October 23, in areas of Mexico where many live in poverty. Nazarene churches in Melaque and Barra Navidad were affected, as there is no safe drinking water or power in these areas. In Puerto Vallarta, several church families were waiting to be evacuated and churches are being used as shelters. Four Nazarene churches were affected. Visit ncm.org/mexico to learn more or give support.
Papua New Guinea drought
Papua New Guinea continues to experience drought. Fires erupted on the grounds of the Kudjip mission station, but were doused before significant damage occurred. The hydroelectric plant that supplies power to Kudjip Nazarene Hospital is shut down. A large generator has been donated and crucial areas receive power, however, many places are without electricity. The lack of water continues to cause an increase in food prices. "People are hungry, water is scarce and unclean; we need rain," said missionary doctor Erin Meier.
HEALTH-RELATED REQUESTS
Marion Rich Update
Praise the Lord for the answer to prayers for Marion Rich. She remains in ICU with a minimum of support. Her vital signs are good. She suffered some kind of stroke and her left side is not responding. She is opening her eyes, but family is not sure she is recognizing anyone at this point. Thank you for your continued prayers as the road to recovery is still long and complicated. Marion is a former missionary and the mother of missionary Dwight Rich, who serves in South America.
