Brazil conference develops missionary initiatives

by | 13 Dec 2018

The Church of the Nazarene Brazil held a missionary orientation conference 15-17 November in Campinas, Brazil, for 30 missionary candidates from the Southeast region, the Amazon, the North Rio Grande, Parana, and Santa Catarina.

During the event, leaders established a process of training, formation, and sending missionaries through the coordination of Global Missions in the South America Region and the Global Ministry Center in the United States. The process will feature a variety of ministries, challenges, tests, and activities. There are four such conferences scheduled in different parts of Brazil in 2019.

As a part of this initiative, the church in Brazil also announced the Center of Missionary Formation, which will help curate the missionary training process. The center will open in January 2019 with the hope to send more Brazilian missionaries to the field the following year.

“The challenge is to train with excellence the most candidates possible for a vocation in missions so the Church of the Nazarene can continue to make Christlike disciples in the nations,” said Natanael Cardoso, Brazil Global Missions coordinator.
