Nazarene Theological College Australia and New Zealand is pleased to announce its new principal, Joseph Wood. His appointment to the position will be effective in January 2024.

With 11 years of experience, he brings a rich background in theological education, church service, and a passion for innovation. Wood is no stranger to NTC, having served there as dean of students and senior lecturer in theology and church history since July 2021.

“Over the past two years, I have come to know and love the college, its students, and the church it serves in this part of the world,” Wood said. “It has been a joy to get to know the diversity of cultures and peoples represented here and to experience the warm welcome my family has received from the college and the wider Church of the Nazarene community.”

The Board of Trustees elected Joseph as NTC’s ninth principal, succeeding Rob Fringer in the role.

“It is truly wonderful, after a long search process, to see Joseph accept this nomination,” said Roland Hearn, current chair of the board.

Joseph and his wife, Kat Wood, have two children: Evelyn (11) and Miriam (8). In addition to teaching and research, he hosts We Are NTC, a Spotify podcast. He enjoys mountain biking, bush walking, good food, and meeting new people.

The Cameroon flag is a vertical tricolor of green, red and yellow, defaced with a five-pointed star in its center. The center stripe is thought to stand for unity: red is the colour of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity." The yellow stands for the sun and also the savannas in the northern part of the country, while the green is for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon.
