Central Philippines Nazarene College announced the election of Gilbert Montecastro as its president. He has 30 years of experience as an educator at Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary, Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary, and Central Philippine Nazarene College (formerly Visayan Nazarene Bible College).

Montecastro earned his bachelor’s degree in theology from CPNC. He completed his Master of Theology studies at Presbyterian College and Seminary in Seoul, Korea, and Master of Divinity at Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary. He hasalso earned a Doctor of Theology from Asia Baptist Graduate Theological Seminary.

Ordained in 1998, he has ministered to churches and pastors. Montecastro served as the president and vice president of the Philippine Association of Bible and Theological Schools, a member and secretary of the Central Visayan District Advisory Board, and a consultant for various strategic missions initiatives for the church. Before being elected president, he recently served as senior pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, Angeles City.

Montecastro is married to Merlita, and they have four children, Alice Grace, Gilbert, Gilynne Grace, and James Gilbert.
