Doris Palma

Doris Palma de Urcia, a pastor in Peru, passed away 19 August 2022.

Doris, originally from Santa Rosa, served the Lord together with her husband, Santos Urcia, since the mid-1980s. Their first years of ministry were in Tumbes; then they pastored in the Urrunaga church until 2001, when Santos Urcia passed away.

Since 2001, Doris served in pastoral ministry as co-pastor in the Urrunaga church. She was a tireless evangelist, both in outdoor services, in the church, and at a personal level. Doris preached and led conferences on hundreds of occasions, in many churches, retreats, and women's meetings.

She was a selfless mother, raising and educating her three daughters, Anita, Cinthya and Zeida, who are following the teachings and inspiration of their parents. The South America Region prays that God embraces and comforts them.

The Cameroon flag is a vertical tricolor of green, red and yellow, defaced with a five-pointed star in its center. The center stripe is thought to stand for unity: red is the colour of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity." The yellow stands for the sun and also the savannas in the northern part of the country, while the green is for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon.
