Trevecca president to speak at TEACH 2016

by | 07 Jul 2016

Trevecca Nazarene University President Dan Boone will address the theme “Fruitful in Season” at the upcoming TEACH 2016 conference. He will review the two previous stages – rooted and growing – and address the purpose of every Christ follower, which is to be fruitful.

Boone, an author and speaker, was called to preach at the age of 12. As a teen, he pastored the New Salem Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee. He attended Trevecca Nazarene University and later earned a Master of Divinity degree at Nazarene Theological Seminary. Boone earned a Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary. He has served as the senior pastor of several churches, including Trevecca Community Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee, and College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

"We are all called — regardless of our position, circumstance, or vocation — to be fruitful in reflecting the character of Christ so that others come to know, love, and serve Him," said Larry Morris, USA/Canada regional director for Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International. "SDMI plays a vital role in this stage of discipleship. To that end, it is crucial that the Church regularly recognizes the significant ministry laity has in and through their church, families, and vocational assignments. TEACH 2016 is an opportunity to provide valuable training to laity."

TEACH 2016 is a national lay ministry conference, held at Springdale Nazarene Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, August 12-13. Registration, which includes lunch on Saturday, is $25 per person. Learn more at teach2016.org.
