Korean pastors gather for conference

Korean pastors and leaders from across the USA/Canada Region gathered at Chicago First Korean Church of the Nazarene for a time of learning and sharing at the 2015 Korean Pastors’ Conference.

The keynote speaker, JooSeob Lee, president of the Institute of the Biblical Geography, presented insights about Bible narratives. Tim Mercer, a professor at Olivet Nazarene University and former missionary to South Korea, preached during the opening worship service. Chicago Central District Superintendent Larry McKain welcomed the group, gave a word of encouragement, and challenged attendees to reach the next generation.

Special guests included Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary President SeungAn Im, AnJoong Church of the Nazarene pastor MoonGi Yoon, YoungBum Kim of South Korea, and staff members from Korea Nazarene University.

A business meeting was held during the conference and a new president of the Korean Association was elected, as well as new board members. David SungHeon Lee of the Happy Church on the Metro New York District was elected as the new president. He will serve as president for the next two years.

Lee delivered the message at the closing service.
