Gwendolyn was born in 1929 in Iowa, and she accepted Jesus as Lord at the age of 6 after her family moved to Idaho. When Gwendolyn was in high school, she was sanctified and began feeling a call to full-time missions work.

Gwendolyn and Dean served as a missionaries for nearly 25 years in Nicaragua and Colombia from 1953 until Dean passed away in 1977.

After Dean passed, Gwendolyn married Raymond McClung, who passed away in 1996. Four years later, Gwendolyn married LaVerne Streight, who passed away in December.

Memorial service for Gwendolyn will be held 2 p.m. 12 July at Nampa College Church of the Nazarene in Idaho.

The Cameroon flag is a vertical tricolor of green, red and yellow, defaced with a five-pointed star in its center. The center stripe is thought to stand for unity: red is the colour of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity." The yellow stands for the sun and also the savannas in the northern part of the country, while the green is for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon.
