by | 17 Apr 2019

The Charlesburg Church of the Nazarene in Suriname hosted a combined service for all 16 Nazarene churches in the country 3 March. There were more than 200 people in attendance, including members from the Apoera, Haitian, Saramacaan, and Dutch churches.

The event chairperson was Eric Hitzert, and the service was translated into Haitian Creole and Sranan Tongo, the local dialect spoken and understood by most of the migrant population.

Errol Viera, pastor from the Ozone Park Church of the Nazarene in Queens, New York, was the guest speaker.

“It was truly a grand time of celebration where we saw the anointing of God’s divine power on His servant Rev. Errol Viera as he delivered the Word of God,” said Augustus Andrews, Caribbean communications team member.

The Cameroon flag is a vertical tricolor of green, red and yellow, defaced with a five-pointed star in its center. The center stripe is thought to stand for unity: red is the colour of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity." The yellow stands for the sun and also the savannas in the northern part of the country, while the green is for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon.
